The date is set, the campsite is reserved, the menu planned…..but what
will you do during the "free time". Kids can learn the basics of knife
safety, building a fire, go on a nature hike, pitch a tent, and more.
Tell me what your group already knows, and I'll take them to the next
step in their camping knowledge.

Learn the basics of
First Aid, how to respond to an emergency, control bleeding, treat for
symptoms of shock, splint an injury, call for help, and much more.
Kids over 14 years old can choose to be complete American Red Cross
certification for an additional $12 fee

Give girls an
opportunity to practice leadership styles and techniques by solving
initiative problems, working together as a team, and communicating
with each other. Girls will be presented with a challenge or problem,
given unusual props and asked to work together to solve the problem.
Cross the "poison peanut butter pit", build a tower of balloons; and
play "moonball". This is a fun and rewarding way to really get girls
to “take the lead”

The group will solve
a Murder Mystery and learn the ways they work together and how their
role within the group is important. Determine the victim, the culprit,
the time, the place, the weapon and the motive and have fun while
doing it.

Become a chef in the
outdoors! Use different recipes, different stoves and different ways
to cook in this hands-on program. Everyone cooks their own meal during
this fun program. Junior Girl Scouts will complete all or most of the
requirements for the Outdoor Cook badge. (This program must be
conducted outdoors.)

Try to balance nails,
put together a giant tangram, solve word puzzles and more. Groups will
do a series of hands-on activities that will help them stretch their
minds, to find solutions to problems that aren’t obvious, to think
creatively and to “think outside of the box”.

Try our version of
"Survivor". Kids will learn to tackle a variety of challenges and
learn an assortment of skills as they have fun in the outdoors. Carve
their own spoon to eat their lunch, make a pair of tongs, start a fire
without a match, and cook and eat "ash cakes". This can be a one day
program or part of a group camping trip. This program must be
conducted outdoors and requires building a campfire.
